Restaurant Chantecler - Toronto

Really enjoyed it at Chantecler. The staff was nice and profesional. The food was excellent. Excellent. As a spanish couple, used to mediterranean food, we were happily surprised to find this restaurant. Would recommended to anyone. The price is correct, and our favorite dishes were the tartare and the tuna salad (niçoise). Hope to come back soon!!! ;)

My fiance and I loved Chantecler. The chicken and brussels sprouts were outstanding, and everything in the duck dish (duck, served with green onion crepes and pickles) complemented each other so well. We also enjoyed the server's suggested wine pairings. We were lucky enough to get a spot by the sous-chef, and watching her prepare dishes was part of the fun of the experience. All in all, we're looking forward to the next time we can go back!

Long wait for service. Limited menu. Food is mediocre. Very noisy. Price to qualiity ratio is poor. Will not go back.

Nestled along the north side of Queen Street West, this Parkdale gem is a must. Unlike many Parkdale restos, they do take dinner reservations. But plan ahead as they fill up quickly and you can reserve only up to a month in advance. Once you've gotten a table, you can expect professional yet casual service in a small but comfortable room. As you walk in you'll be hit with an energetic buzz and rustic chic decor. The highlight, though, is the food! The tapas style plates are very social as they get shared with the whole table. What makes this tapas unique is that the food is classic French bistro fare. Our highlights were the chicken pate and the pork sausage. Not to say that the rest of the food we sampled wasn't superb! Go, enjoy, our table of four had no complaints!

This a great find in Parkdale. Areal French bistro: small, friendly & full. The food is well prepared and presented: small plates, plates to share some for two, some for four. Try the individual French onion soup, cheese balls, snails & mushrooms in puff pastry, duck, chicken etc. I don't think you can go wrong. The lemon parfait is a great way to finish.
