We wanted to be on the roof, but reservation would be too late in the night. we sat on the main terrace, scanned barcode for menu that had much too many choices, but for the burger who bears the name of the place. it was dry, but more tasty. the service was so great that it was a beautiful evening.
I spent a lot of time here in my college days. A banquet burger or patty melt and a draft was at least a once a week event. It’s been a few years since my last visit but went in to meet a friend for...a drink tonight. Glad to see it’s still the same. beers to choose from of course, but same great atmosphere and crowd. Kids, construction workers, local office crowd, a real mix and a great vibe. With all the development in the area it probably won’t be around a lot longer so I’ll have to get back again soon.
This has happened to us a couple of times; so not just a one off. You come in, the place is busy, but not rammed. Move up to the bar to get a drink and, suddenly, you apparently have your invisibility suit on. Two bar...tenders walk by, on several occasions, and do the “I can’t see you there” walk past. Of course, you know full well that they see you. They’d have to be blind to NOT see you.... right up to the bar, hand half raised in the universal “Could I trouble you for a drink?” gesture. Nothing. My advice is to go to another of the many bars in the area try The Oxley, about a 5 minute walk . Do what we did. Vote with your wallet and your feet. Don’t waste your time for bad service and completely forgettable food.
An absolutely HORRIBLE experience. I have never been treated like this in a restaurant in my entire life! We wanted to see a Quartet band play from 2:30 to 5:30 pm. We managed to sit at a table for two and the band had been...playing for 5 minutes this was in the flight deck! The bartender owner the rudest man ever asked if we wanted a drink and I said not at this moment thanks we wanted to settle in and then order a glass of wine and cider! He rudely said to us if we don't order now we have to leave IMMEDIATELY! I was shocked! I think I sat here for two minutes not knowing what to do! He then threw menus at us and left. I was so disgusted that we decided to leave! How dare someone treat another person like that! If I was you I would give this place ONE BIG SKIP!!!!
