The Wren - Toronto

The Wren was a restaurant that we had on our list for a while, and after months of the COVID lockdown, we finally decided to venture out onto the terrace. It was our first time dining outside of our house, so we opted to just have drinks. We were asked to answer screening questions and observed the obvious COVID prevention measures in place. We went on a Sunday afternoon and were seated right away. The terrace was quite small, with most seating currently limited to the sides, which didn't create the best atmosphere. However, the staff were very friendly and we will definitely return for a meal when it is safe to dine indoors.

We went to dinner on a Friday and had to wait about a minute for a table. It wasn't a big deal as there was a bar nearby where we could have a drink while we waited. Once we were seated, they were out of the specials, but it didn't matter because the food we ordered was delicious. We tried the Onkel Buck burger and the Smash burger. The Onkel Buck was good, but the Smash burger was amazing - we would definitely come back for it. The fries were excellent and we topped off our meal with a delicious stout chocolate cake for dessert. The service was also fantastic - the servers were very friendly and helpful. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better experience!

The young chefs at this restaurant are incredibly creative, and their dishes are consistently fantastic. The quality of the food is great and the prices are very reasonable.

I am so grateful that the wren makes the takeout while we all stay home. you eat is enormously creatiw, and we love each of their burgers and sandwiches. so good!

Small portions. Left feeling hungry. The short rib lacked seasoning and polenta was runny and tasteless. Service was excellent and friendly. Pricey for what we got
