I unfortunately made the mistake of ordering a lentil dish that was cooked with dairy butter, and I noticed that nothing is clearly labeled as vegan. Thankfully, the staff member who assisted me was very kind and let me know about the mistake, and they provided me with a new plate. In any case, I highly recommend the combo plate and some samosas—they're all absolutely delicious!
As an Indian, the flavors are a mixed bag. The owners are Punjabi so safe bet is to order north Indian stuff. The poha (traditionally Maharashtrian or Central India) was quite mediocre. Chaat was decent. Samosas seem to the thing to get.
This place is right down the street from me I LOVE the spicy food and so does my family. I suggest to any one that you order what my aunt calls thanksgiving in a cup , cant think of the name but its a #9 just make sure they don 't put the yogurt on it(if your vegan-it has dairy in it)and the spicy green sauce(if u cant handle HOTT!like me)ohh and u cant forget the rice its amazing!!! another little thing some of the dishes have cram or milk mainly just the spinach i think
I wouldn't rush back to Torrance for this. It's mainly a grocery store, and the staff didn't come across as particularly friendly; they seemed almost annoyed when I inquired about dairy-free options. Even though many of the sweets appeared to be vegan based on their ingredients, they only confirmed that one item was vegan. That day, there were only three options in the hot bar that were vegan.
Great little vegetarian Indian deli inside an Indian market. Very tasty and I really love the samosas. Updated from previous review on 2021-08-05
