Wadatsumi - Torrance

I visited this restaurant for lunch before my hair appointment, and it was absolutely delightful! I almost forgot how fresh fish should taste—what a heavenly experience. I ordered the Chu Toro Negi Toro Donburi, which was the perfect portion for lunch. It was just right; no need to worry about feeling drowsy in the afternoon. I recommend arriving early, as this place is quite popular and there's usually a line.

This restaurant provides an authentic Japanese dining experience with a wide range of seafood options, sashimi, wagyu beef, and chirashi bowls. A standout feature is their rotating specials menu, which includes sashimi sourced directly from the central wholesale market in Osaka. While the flavors were enjoyable, they didn’t quite reach perfection. The fish was fresh, and the portion sizes were surprisingly generous for this cuisine. However, I was disappointed with the Snake River Farm wagyu, served on a sizzling plate, as it was overcooked (medium well) when I had expected medium rare, resulting in tougher meat than anticipated. There is plenty of parking available, and despite the restaurant being busy, we were seated promptly without a reservation. The service was attentive and friendly. Although I may not return in the near future, I would still recommend giving it a try. Expect to spend around $50-65 per person if you order multiple dishes and have a drink.

This is a fantastic Japanese restaurant! I usually come here for a quick lunch, but today I decided to have dinner. The food and service are always outstanding. If you're in the area, you should definitely come by for a meal. Food rating: 5/5.

Overall, I would highly recommend this spot for a night out with friends, but I wouldn't suggest bringing my family here.

The service is exceptional, although it can become quite crowded during dinner hours, so it's wise to make a reservation in advance.
