I enjoyed the atmosphere and the drinks were well prepared but they have a seating situation whereby underneath the canopy you must order food whereas the tables behind the canopy you can just drink. I was not hungry and was not able to sit Under The Canopy however after I received my drink and saw the menu I wanted to order some fries but unfortunately they could not serve me unless I moved back to a chair Under The Canopy. This was unfortunate and I feel silly to restrict people from being able to eat simply because they want to reserve the tables for eating in the front.

Heading back to Lisbon from northern Portugal, we decided to stop off in Torres Novas to see the castle and get dinner. We haven’t made it to the castle yet, but dinner was outstanding. In fact, this restaurant sits at the base of it we have a great view of the towers). The entire waitstaff were warm and personable and most importantly spoke English. We ordered bread with olive oil/garlic, a T-bone steak for two, and house red and white wines. Not all Portuguese bread is equal, but for you bread connoisseurs, it got the meal off to a good start. The red house wine was delicious, the White house wine just average. Our T-bone steak, which came with three dipping sauces and home-made potato chips, rivaled anything we’d get back in the States definitely enough for two). No worries about Covid. Sitting outside tonight-very confortable. Would come back here in a minute. Highly recommend.

We had really good burgers and drinks here. Very friendly staff who liked to change in English when our blooming Portuguese collapsed. It seemed to have a good atmosphere and mood. Recommended if you are in Torres Novas
