Brasserie Le Capoul is Place Wilson, very close to the Capitol Square. I was here for dinner, and I had a fantastic cassoulet , a typical stew of the Occitanie region, with haricot beans, sausage, pork, and duck meat. When I ordered it, they told me it would take 20 minutes before it would be served, to allow for the slow simmering that this dish requires. The wait was well worth: the food was outstandingly good, and the servings were huge. Service was very good, and prices were medium-high.
There are some things on the menu that are not great at all. I suggest to stick to the specialties of the house and ask questions to the waiters because they are very nice and they know what they are serving. The staff speak English, French and some Spanish. It is a great location to have dinner. It might be expensive if you go by the waiter recommendations but it will be worth it. We spend about 80 per person with wine and coffee.
It all goes to show that you can't please all the people etc...we all found this restaurant, both food and service excellent and good value, that doesn't mean cheap just a fair price for high quality food service and decorVery traditional brasserie style the staff couldn't have been more attentive helpful or friendly, they suggested great local wines that complemented the food really well and weren't the most expensive either, so genuine recommendationsFood was a modernist take on traditional French brasserie styleI eat in lots of good restaurants with work in the UK and on frequent trips abroad and my experience here was so much better than some of the negative reviews would suggest, try it and judge for yourself
Went there twice with both time very good food. Nice selection of aperitifs and wine, waiters friendly and helpful if you want to try a local wine. Our waiter on both occasion also gave us some tips pf trips outside toulouse in the pyrennees and we like the wine so much that he recommended that we went on our way back home to the vineyard to buy some. Would recomment that you do not go there before 21h if you want a quiet meal...we went there one evening about 20h30 and a large spanish family turn up,two couples and seven kids.......the 3 young one wanted to leave the tables all of the time and where very loud ,parents did not seem to be able or willing to control them...they were eating their bread kneeling down on the canape with bread dropping on the other seat....parents seem to think that this was normal.....luckily the staff gave them their meal quickly so that they could leave!
