La Grillee - Toulouse

We've been here since the last time, returning to lunch is everything as it always was. a simple formula menu, perfectly cooked, served quickly and consistently excellent. there is a simple reason why this place remains busy and it. called consistency. charming owner, efficient staff and very good value. look forward to the next visit.

Last reviewed this place in the august this year, but here have many times eaten in pastness the key to its incontroversy success is resistance. there are no surprises here and they know what they get (ok, so they can call. or escape instead of the steak) and its perfectly prepared each time. it is a good value and the service is fast and polite. I hate to go in a restaurant, in which I will not, just so, I will book each time and so works la grillee perfect for me. I'll be back next time I need to fix my Steak frits!.

We ate here often, three years ago and returning this month keen to see if it was a good. Now summer and very hot we ate outside but have to endure smokers all around when will France join the civilised world and ban smoking...wherever food is served! The food was as good as ever, it's a simple menu with few choices for mains and non for entrée but all well prepared and presented. Service was a little confused at first when we were told there was no white wine as there hadn't been a delivery that day.....utterly bizarre story. Then a glass of white wine appeared! Asking for the house beer I declined the unpleasant Aflegem Belgian offering and was told they had no bottled beer. Looking at the menu it said Heineken! Do you have any I asked...Yes came the reply....all very odd and unfathomable but we had a good night and the food was very good. The waiter redeemed himself later by bringing an ice bag for the very warm red wine , a thoughtful gesture. Will return again for our steak and fries fix!

I came here for the second time in two years and it will be the last one. I was with a friend of mine, we had two salads with walnuts, and then rib steaks with french fries, for each. For a menu, at lunch,...it is quite expensive. Not even a glass of wine or a coffee in the menu... The waiter prefered to serve regular visitors than ourselves, and was distant. The salad was ok, but I find it really sad not prepare a salad with season's vegetables. It will always be the same one, whenever you come to this place. The bread was good. Concerning the meat and the fries, it was cooked as we asked (blue and rare), but to be honest the taste was not there even if the texture was interesting. I found it quite expensive for the food we had there, I did not like the atmosphere there where only bankers and fashion storekeepers. If you're not looking like that, you'll feel that you should have gone elsewhere to eat, thanks to the waiter's behavior. So, in my opinion, food is almost ok but I did not like the restaurant at all.

There are three similar places like this in Toulouse town centre: Entrecte, La Grille and Meet the Meat. Meet the Meat is a slightly different meat concept: more choice, better cut of meat. And the price reflects this. However, there's no volont , so don't...ask! In my view La Grille, is far better than Entrecote no queues, better chips, better service and a much nicer, more private terrace. Difference in price euro. The difference in service and ambiance is worth far more and the sauce is truly yummy. So for the discerning, this is the better choice for two reasons: nicer interior (good for romantic dinners) and you dont have to actually ask for extra meat. They give it to you automatically on a warmer platter. How nice is that? Id like to go back and sit on their terrace! Distance between : Entrecte and La Grille minutes walking or take the metro to Franois Verdier. The only thing I could fault La Grille for is their air conditioning. Its above an open door (which renders it completely ineffective) and the main tables are not within line of sight of the a/c. This said, I cant remember if the other two restaurants have aircon, but I doubt it somehow.
