The first course was scallops, perfectly cooked - followed by fish with butternut, spinach and pesto. My dessert was a trio of rice puddings - not at all like stodgy English ones. Like all the dishes, this one was beautifully presented and well-judged. We would certainly recommend this restaurant.
We randomly found this restaurant on tripAdvisor and decided to go last minute. It was a pleasant surprise! The quality of the food was incredible (I took a menu' with starter, main and dessert for 30 euro) and the chef (also waiter!) was very nice. Food was all prepared on the fly and fresh. We could see the chef preparing our food just next to us.Highly recommended!
Splendid place for an elegant lunch in Toulouse, in the sympa rue de pharaon near the Carmes metro station. We paid only 18 euros for a classy 3 course meal in style. A well-laid table with fresh white table linnen and idem napkins. So for a few euros more than you would pay for a standard set lunch elsewhere under sometimes cramped conditions. At petit bacchus it feels like a festive outing. We had a creamy asparagus soup, delicious, a succulent veal steak (well-grilled, generous), and a dream of a dessert - lots of fresh fruits with sour cream and sorbet ice. Service was very friendly and quick.A pity that in this home of Bacchus the wines (a very interesting wine list) only come in full bottles, we would have preferred a half bottle and had to take a caraffe house wine instead.
My girlfriend and I selected this restaurant due to the many very good reviews and were really looking forward to our dinner. Throughout the meal, we were repeatedly disappointed to find how plain and uninviting each course was, both in taste and presentation. I was also disappointed there wasn't an affordable, quality wine. Imagine paying 30 euros for a menu where the main course is a small glass jar filled with mashed potatoes and a bit of beef roast. Most disappointing. Service and setting were good, but I would not bother to try again. There are many wonderful restaurants in Toulouse city center that never fail to please.
My wife and I ventured out for a late dinner. Based on trip advisor reviews we called the Petit Bacchus and were lucky that they had room for 2 that evening. We were warmly greeted and settled in at our table. It appeared that some of the diners were well known to the server and chef, a very good sign. I ordered from the a la carte menu as I was desiring a steak. While my wife also wanted a steak we felt that we could not order the same thing in a new restaurant. She decided to order from the fixed plat menu. Her entree was escargots and the main was duck 3 ways, dessert was a chocolate tart with an orange sorbet. The wine list was extensive and covered all the price points. The server returned to our table to sadly inform me that the couple sitting next to us had eaten the last steaks. She then recommended the duck with a truffle jus and foie gras and said I would not be disappointed. For dessert I ordered the mango creme with orange sorbet. Both our meals were excellent, my wife called hers a deconstructed cassoulet as it was served with a white bean concoction. We both agreed that my duck was the better meal. It was out of this world!Prices were very reasonable. Aperitifs, a bottle of wine the dinners and dessert along with coffee at the end all for €100. We highly recommend this Restaurant both for the food and great service.
