The view, alone, makes it worth a trip even for just drinks and appetizers (onion rings! but try their excellent prime rib special, fish fry or prime rib on a burger. It can get crowed so maybe call ahead.
Just had dinner at Portside and it was truly awesome. The queen prime rib was perfection and the serving size was overly generous. Scallops were super tender and grilled to perfection. Katie our server was attentive and never missed a beat. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Called 2 times to inquire about a wait or make a reservation if needed. No one answers the phone. Decided to show up and walk in to ask. There was a couple ahead of me waiting, after about 5 minutes I asked them if they had been given a wait time and they stated they were unsure because no one as talked to them. After a couple more minutes I walked out. Very upsetting that no one even acknowledged us. I'm only giving an extra star because it does look like a really cool and clean place.
After our Apostles island cruise we decided to have dinner here. We ate on the outdoor deck overlooking the bay. The fish tacos were good and so was the fish and chip plate. The service was extremely quick.
We arrived on time for our reservation and were told it'd be a 20 minute wait. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks, the bartender was cool. After getting seated at our table, we ordered a calamari appetizer, which came out over a half hour after we ordered it. We'd ordered our entrees when the server came back and after patiently waiting another half hour, we inquired about our dinners' progress. It hadn't been started yet so we opted to cancel our order, and could tell the server was embarrassed, though it wasn't her fault. She included a free dessert before we left, which was a kind gesture. This seems like a place more suited for grabbing a drink than dinner.
