Evies, or 'Trendys ' now, as I believe they are under new management, was the setting for the most appalling morning coffee I 've ever experienced. On this 30something degree day, I walked through the door to order two strong soy iced lattes. They took my order, and filled our keep cups with the 'iced lattes '. Now, before leaving the FIRST time, I sipped my drink to find it was sickly sweet. I asked if what they had made me was in fact espresso, soy milk and ice. After being assured multiple times it was, I left to have my coffee with my friend. Once arriving home, we unanimously decided these were not iced lattes, there was no number to call so we retuned to the cafe. Unsurprisingly, when we asked again why it was so sweet and suggested maybe it had something else in it, the woman pulled out a bottle of coffee syrup and explained this is why. I couldnt believe it. I had literally said MULTIPLE TIMES, ESPRESSO, SOY MILK AND ICE PLEASE. We asked them to make us soy flat whites as replacements since what we recieved was clearly not what we ordered, but a coffee flavoured milkshake at best. They made us the very weak, burned milk soy lattes and once again we left. I tried to take a sip, to make sure, just in case but since the liquid burnt my mouth down to my throat I had to wait until it was cooler, about the time we got home again. Shockingly, once I got to have a sip of my coffee I realised these women must have only put one shot in my 16 ounce cup. Both coffees were disgusting, burnt milk with a trickle of caffine, how they think this is acceptable, I have no idea. With heavy hearts and caffine headaches, we once again make our way down to Evies Cafe, walking in the summer heat, for the third time, to again attempt an impossible task: to get a drinkable coffee from this hellhole known formerly as Evies but now apparently trading as 'Trendys ' Dont be fooled . The employees seemed as unhappy to have us back in there as we were to be there, but I think I was more mad. It was 10am when Id first walked in, and now it said 11.52 on my clock. After asking for them to once again rectify their mistake, and arguing with the owner who insisted I pay for this coffee we 're wasting our milk etc yes but you are a business you can not sell people coffee syrup and tell them it is espresso- THAT IS NOT A COFFEE we got our money back and went around the corner where they took our order, made and presented our coffees all in under 10 minutes.
Staff were amazing. Friendly and helpful. The place is immaculately clean and it was the first time I've been able to eat a pie in years which was actually really good. Pies, cakes, rolls are all made in house. They're dog friendly too selling puppacino's and dog snacks. Very helpful with tips on the area and directions for our travels down the coast as well. Good work.
