Pagoda Chinese - Tralee

Great food and always spot on the mark with the orders.

I have been a frequent customer of this restaurant for Chinese food, but recently I had a bad experience when my chow mein was delivered with a hair in it. This is not the first time it has happened. On another occasion, my daughter found a long black hair in her food, which couldn't have been hers as she is blonde. I will not be returning to this restaurant again.

Ordered online for a treat. I live around 25 Kms from the takeaway but had heard it was good. First impressions were good, looks clean and the staff were okay. The wait to collect was reasonable as it shows the food is cooked fresh and wasn 't on a hotplate somewhere waiting for me to collect. Drove home (25kms), sat down to enjoy my food which looked great. To be fair, the king prawn chow mein was quite good. I was looking forward to my prawn toast and veggie spring rolls. The prawn toast was good, crisp and not too greasy. Took a large bite of the veggie spring roll to find it was actually a chicken roll. I have not eaten meat in nearly 20 years!!!!! I called the pagoda and was created with I 'll give it to you next time, I 'll remember . I explained this was not good enough due to the travel etc. I probably won 't be back. The next option was to return the whole meal for a refund. 50 Kms for 27 euro!!! I declined their kind generous offer as the time and journey would outwaigh the value to me, pagoda obviously need it more than I do. An apology would have been nice as a starting point though. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this establishment!!!

I went to this restaurant yesterday with my friend and we tried the early bird menu. We started with chicken wings and spring rolls for our starters, followed by chicken curry and chicken in satay sauce for our mains. Everything was delicious, including the excellent coffee we had. The staff may not have been very experienced, but they were very friendly. I will definitely be going back again.

We had a selection of 4 starters and the shredded chicken was probably the best I have tasted in awhile by far. The mains were jam packed with meat and veg and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend their Amber fire dish very enjoyable! The service was really good and prompt.
