Royal Exchange Hotel - Traralgon

We dropped in for lunch, it was right on lunchtime, so our orders were first in line. It was a special celebration lunch, so we decided to skip the seniors men, and choose from the main one ... we picked Garlic Prawns

Back to the royal exchange - and to a most excellent risotto with wild mushrooms and pancetta. my partner had a classic - and also very nice - chicken parma. the salad tasted slightly bland tonight, but with the creamy tastiness of the risotto that was soon forgotten. the bistro has long been a place where you can get classic pub fare; but what makes the royal exchange different is the specials menu: daring compositions created from good ingredients make your taste buds sing.

Went for lunch with family had a steak which was very nice, well cooked many items to choose from with a specials board

Shameful experience. The lack of anything resembling service was so dire, my friend and I kept laughing in shock. No-one greeted us so we seated ourselves, helped ourselves to the menus, had to ask another patron where we ordered food and where we ordered drinks... all the while, a nasty looking older blonde lady stomped around shooting everyone dirty looks... I did make eye contact with her a few times while smiling but received nothing but a glare for my arrogance. No iced water offered so had to pinch a few glasses from the gaming room much to the surprise of the bar lady there. The girl who did take the lunch orders was so lack lustre, I wanted to double check she wasn't actually in a coma. Food itself was ok... apparantly there was a gluten free menu but since we had to help ourselves to them... SINCE THERE WAS NO SERVICE!!!... we missed it. Never, ever, never go here.

The food at the royal exchange has fallen apart we used to go weekly now we never go overtime i had the soup it would always be cold the meal burnt and the service terrible DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME
