Haugen's Chicken Rib Bbq

This place is what Swiss chalet was in the 90s (cuz it's horrible now and wouldn't eat Swiss chalet if it was free) Haugen's is always consistent. I always get the rib and chicken combo and everything is good from the fries to the gravy to the tender ribs and moist chicken. And we ordered a whole apple pie. Delicious! They're doing something right since 1953. It's probably a good thing I don't live close otherwise I would go every weekend.

I had seen Haugens on a Food Network show, and when I moved (reasonably) into the area I thought I'd check it out. Ordered a chicken and rib combo with the country sauce. The chicken was very juicy, for white meat, and the sauce (similar to chalet sauce) was really great with it. The sauce may have been a touch salty. The ribs were also good too, a sweeter sauce, but fall off the bone. Honestly, the best part of the meal which usually gets overlooked...THE BUN! The bun was so soft and pillowy oh my god. Delicious. I would absolutely go to Haugens again, especially if I'm up for a drive and am tired of Swiss Chalet!

The food and service was excellent, our waitress was happy and seemed to actually like her job, she came to the table and couple of times to see if there was anything else we'd like. even the coffee was good, first time I'd been there and next riding season I definitely plan to go back
