The chicken, sandwiches, and platters here are fantastic. While parking can be a challenge since it's located downtown, the food is reasonably priced, and the service is polite.
I stopped into the Crown Fried Chicken on my way home from the Trenton Public Library one day because I was hungry and wanted to try a chicken sandwich based on the review of the food by Gerald S. The restaurant is just an empty room with a counter you can stand at and order food. There was like six or seven people inside leaning against the walls or standing. Some were eating food, others were just hanging out. There were a lot of other people standing around outside as well. I think there's a bus stop on the corner but I'm unsure. Anyway, I ordered a fried chicken sandwich to go. It was like $4. Waited for about six minutes. There was a verbal altercation outside the restaurant during that time. Got my sandwich and took it home. It wasn't too bad. Not as good as Gerald described it, but it was sufficient. Don't know if I'll be back because the location is not ideal. But it was an interesting experience.
I can't say much about the food since I only tried the honey barbecue French fries, and they weren't that impressive. Additionally, I got sick about 30 minutes after eating them.
It cannot be located in the best part of the city, corner of the state and Broad, this is by far the best roasted chicken. I could convince my employees and we had a party. The consensus was the chicken had a great taste, crispy, moist and very economical. The side of macaroni and cheese is very creamy. I have eaten several times here and never had a bad experience.
