The hotel is located about 3 km from the town of El Colomo next to an arroyo is a small family-run restaurant and a fully working ranch called Las Caguamas de Piletas. The owner Arnold works the ranch and grows cattle, sheep, goats and chickens. The whole meat served in the restaurant comes from the family farm and is 100% organic and human. The food is made by his wife, who is an amazing cook. Your children and grandchildren are always helping. When you arrive, you will be greeted and treated as if you were part of their extended family. Before Christmas we booked a family dinner there. She handpicked one of her free range, grass fed goats (chivo) and made us a local Jalisco specialty called Birrie. This is a slowly cooked stew that is braided in various chiliss. It's not excessively spicy. When we arrived, they started with signs of shrimps and fish, as well as tostaden and ice cold beer, while our dinner finished its last moments of the stewing. The keviche was fresh and tasty. One of the best chaps I've eaten. From the kitchen, the Birrie sworn and the flavors captivated all imagination and when it was finally served, it was not disappointed. Perfectly cooked, it fell from the bones and literally melted in our mouth. Even when I was full, I had to fill my dish, it was so delicious. During our evening there were several other local Mexican families. They played Banda music (local country music) on the Jukebox and the people danced under the Palapa. All made our whole group of 24 people very welcome and included in the festivities. If you are looking for a special and unique cultural experience, I recommend you make your way to this special small place. If you don't have a vehicle, I recommend you set a car and driver to take you. This is a perfect experience for a large group of all ages
