We decided to sit outside because the scent of the kitchen was rather strong inside. At some point I wanted to get up and leave, but my stomach wasn’t ok with that decision. So we stayed and ordered pasta with Mediterranean sauce. It’s quite obvious the waiters are a bit clumsy, not doing it for long. One waiter came to take our order for drinks, the other one came to take the food order. As for the second guy, I wasn’t really sure was it a waiter or the chef from the kitchen. A bit more of professionalism would be warmly welcomed. And perhaps a bit more English (at least the menue should be in English, so the staff could avoid the hard times explaining the chefs recommendations to an English speaking guy who has a severe shrimp allergy . It took more than expected to get the pasta on the table, but it was incredibly tasty (minus the not too tasty olives! . So all in all, a pleasant surprise.
No menu or pricelist in advance, nice place and food until the bill arrives... 28€ for some starters for two, and that's just the beginning. DO NOT EAT HERE (unless you just won the lottery and you don't care about money at all, in that case the food is quite good).
A restaurant where you will enjoy typical Italian pasta and seafood and reasonable prices. Also offered wine is solid. During lunch, you can feed the pigeons.
We (two adults and two small kids) stumbled upon this small restaurant after a long walk around the sights of Trieste. To be honest the state of the terrace and the first impression the waiter (who I think may be the owner too) gave us by explaining the menu quite hastily weren't the best so we did not expect much from the dinner. However, we were in for a treat, with some amazing pasta, well prepared red fish and a very nice Tiramisu. When time came to pay the bill the waiter told me I had to pay cash as their credit card terminal was not working. I had none on me so he simply let me walk away in full trust with the promise that I will come back once I got some from a cash machine. This left me with a really positive impression and made the whole experience even better!
My wife and I stumbled upon this little gem in a side street not far from the main square. We both had a seafood pasta which was delicious. Prices were very reasonable and the reception from the staff was warm and inviting. It seemed it was more of a locals eatery than tourists which is exactly what we were looking for.
