Food is really affordable, servings are for sharing. Locals and frequent visitors patronize the place because of its homey feel. Try the noodles, lumpia and pork belly.
There used to be an iconic restaurant in Baguio City called Star Cafe. This was the place to go to whenever one visits the city of pines in the early days. The place closed downed a few years ago when the owners' descendants did not continue the business anymore. We decided to buy some vegetables at the trading post in La Trinidad and did not know where to have lunch. The map showed a restaurant called Jack's. It really looked old from the outside. The interior was not much better. The tables, chairs and plates were plain.Seeing the menu, the offerings were varied. Prices were not to bad either. there was skepticism how large the servings were given the budget prices. When the food arrived and we tasted it, it was like a trip back to the old days of Star cafe. This was no food prepared by a chef, but dishes done the old fashioned way.Truly, time stands still in this restaurant. There was a chap who could have been Jack, the owner and he looked like he was from the 1970's
The foods are delicious.. we get to order pancit here and we just love it.. also the meats are just heaven! hahaha
One of the first restaurants in CAR to offer the rice topping menu, It was good to see them back after being absent for several years in the local resto business in Baguio and La Trinidad Benguet. Definitely popular among the locals. Try visiting one of their branches and see for yourself.
