We had spoken well of this restaurant and personally gave me a lot. on this trip, it didn't make us very good, it was October and the possibilities of rain were high but this day it made very good and the sun came out. We only had the name of the city where it was, but as they had told us that it had good views that we left the road going up to the top of the hill of zummet because we saw that there was a restaurant upstairs. Although in the end this was not the place worth mistake because the views are impressive and you can see the entire curve that makes the mosella and the great extension that the vineyards occupy. It's worth climbing even if it's just to see the landscape. After asking, we're heading to trittenheim looking from above. the restaurant is passing the offer to the left, has no loss and is easy to park. besides the restaurant also have rooms. the building on the outside is classic following the architecture of the rest of the area, but the decoration is very careful. Since time was very good we ate on the terrace overlooking the garden where there are beautiful views of the vineyards of trittenheimer apotheke. quiet, quiet and relaxed. the menu is not very wide, but it is common in this type of restaurants that make a more elaborate kitchen looking for quality. price is not cheap, but no more expensive than a Spanish restaurant with star michelin. our goal on this trip was to get to know the wine of the area and to make a graffiti route for the place to be perfect. Every now and then you have to give yourself some whim. The service got us a lot and as it was so good we were doing a lot of time making a mess. Then take a walk between the vineyards and go back to trier. If you get the good table don't stop visiting this restaurant when you go to the mosella.
My wife and I decided to break up our return from Alicante to visit the middle Mosel since we were scheduled to change planes in Franfurt. We took two extra days to taste wine at some of the producers around Bernkastel. We asked a recommendation...from one of the wineries for a place to have lunch and they were kind enough to call the family Oos who own Wein and Tafelhaus. They kept the restaurant open till we arrived and we had one of the best meals of the whole vacation and the service was outstanding. It is worth going out of you way if you happen to be anywhere close to Trittenheim. We were so taken by the Mosel, having not been there for over 30 years, we plan to go back as soon as we can and will certainly schedule a visit to this restaurant.
Small, very stylish restaurant, awarded with one Michelin star. Which is very much deserved! The Wein Tafelhaus features excellent food and very friendly, attentive service. The owner, Alexander Oos, is the chef and his wife Daniela manages the service and is a very knowledgeable...sommelière. The excellent wine list features some 300 wines: a substantial range of wines from the Mosel and from other regions in Germany, a good range of Austrian wines, but also a good selection of wines from all around the world to satisfy any taste. We went there as a group of 3 couples, and some of us had the regional menu and others the full gourmet menu (6 courses). Both were excellent: Beautifully presented, clearly made from high quality ingredients, with a good combination of flavours and colours, and with a lot of attention to detail. From the start with a beautiful amuse bouche through to the coffee with home-made chocolates we truly enjoyed our meal and had a wonderful evening! Highly recommended. We will definitely go back soon.
I agree with previous reviewers. This is a hidden gem. The food is amazing a lot of seafood , a wonderful terrace out to the Mosel, reasonable prices, and a very elegant atmosphere. I was stunned when the owner of the restaurant asked us, after having...seated us, how our children are and if our son had learnt to walk he was a newborn when we visited the first time the previous visit was one year ! ago and she could still remember our children, their ages and even exactly where we were sitting during our previous visit. Friends had dinner at this restaurant based on our recommendation and were just as satisfied as we were.
I was invited by a friend who is a regular guest in the Wine and Tafelhaus. He was greeted as such and the atmosphere was very warm and casual. The Maitre of the restaurant, same time the wife of the Chef de Cuisine, welcomed us...and is a very professional and passionate sommelier. I could see in the wine menu that they did carry a few of the classical fine chateaus but dominantly rather unknown findings which turned out to be just devine. We had some Greek and Austrian wines which where at about 80-100 euro per bottle and did defenatley hold a candle to a much higher priced french brother. The service: Casual yet elegant as it should be for my opinion in a one star michelin. Each course was timed well and we felt very well accomodated. The food: Just devine. We had a 5 course menu. Highlight was the tender venison filet and a trilogia of carrot and potato. We had the daughter of the inviting gentlemen with us 13 years). The waitress knew the little princess already and the chef sent a tailor made menu for her without any hassle! Great effort there! The pricing: Very reasonable and if you want to experience new wines, great food combined with solid and efficient service, this is a place to be on the mosel river. Thumps up !
