La Chaumière - Troinex

Unser erster Besuch. Côte de beuf für 2 Personen bestellt. Ca 600 gr Fleisch bekommen in ausgezeichneter Qualität. Das Lokal ist sehr schön eingerichtet, hat auch ein Gartenrestaurant. Zuvorkommende Bedienung.

La Chaumiere has an excellent location near the Saleve, with a large terrace. We ate in the wonderful indoor kitchen, which was thoughtfully arranged so that the tables are well separated. We enjoyed the six-course tasting menu, the two seafood-oriented dishes, beef, mushrooms (it is the season), cheese and dessert, next to a wine pairing. It was all very well presented and the wine pairing was appreciated because of its focus on Swiss wine. If I have criticism, it would be that the parts were too much! We hope for a return!

After many years of different ownership, it was a pleasure to return to La Chaumière now under the stewardship of Serge Labrosse, who was previously in charge of the excellent Buffet de la Gare Eaux-Ives. The menu was full of imaginative dishes giving the diner plenty of choice. The wine list, while expensive, was full of interesting names. I started with the Ravioles de crabe, which was excellent and beautifully presented. I followed this with the Supreme de Volaille, which again was well presented and full of flavour. Good to have Serge back on the busy/overcrowded Geneva culinary scene. I can envisage returning soon.

La terrasse était belle, le temps estival et le début de soirée prometteur.... 1 heure et demi après la commande, arrive l'entrée... l'un des serveurs s'excuse, évoquant un temps d'attente mal estimé... pour une terrasse au maximum de sa capacité ...j'entends ses excuses cependant il n'y peut rien... mais il est plutôt victime de la course aux chiffres, peu importe la qualité du service ; mise au second plan hélas trop souvent. Le prix de la note lui ne change pas malgré la méprise... Bien que la cuisine fut bonne, je resterai avec ce mauvais souvenir et c'est un gâchis...le restaurant s'en remettra mais c'est simplement l'occasion de rappeler que si l'on ne peut assumer un service, il ne faut pas fermer les yeux aux dépens du client. Plutôt refuser des réservations pour privilégier la qualité ou investir d'avantage dans les femmes et les hommes au service de la cuisine et des client.

Beaux plats, avec goût, dressés aux petis soins, produits de base de première qualité et cuisson maitrisée. Service compétent, efficace, sympathique. Excellent rapport qualité/prix ! le tout tip top.
