All the times I have visited this town I never knew about this place. Very old rustic building that’s is very upper class inside . Not a great choice of beers more a wine place. A reasonable choice of different classic Italian dishes but Pizza...is their signature plate. Pizza was very good , service was also very good . Did not have an Italian feel inside unlike some others in the town more like a main stream upper class restaurant.
Quiet place off the main street (des Forges). Excellent service, attentive without being pushy. We had beef carpaccio blue cheese salad to start. Wood fired pizzas for the main. All were timely and delicious. Good for couples or family.
When we arrived my wife and I were seated promptly, served water and our order for pizza was taken. We were then served some bread...and then we waited, waited some more, more water and bread came, we waited again, waited some more, more water and...bread came followed by more waiting. After an hour of waiting, eating bread and drinking water we noticed tables of customers that had arrived well after us being served, you guessed it, food, including pizza. Our waiter soon breezed by and told us that our pizza would be a few moments and then quickly left leaving me no time to comment. After he left a waitress that had served us some of our bread happened by and I asked about our pizzas mentioning how others who had arrived after us had been served before us. She responded by saying they had been served other dishes to which I replied that at least one group of customers arriving after us had been served pizza. It was at this time that I ascertained that our pizzas had not even been prepared...so I expressed our displeasure and my wife and I left the premises. And this concludes our story of the pizza that never was. Tip to management: Misleading customers and not serving them pizza in a timely and honest manner leads to bad reviews.
Four a Bois is a very pleasant place for a casual lunch after visiting the nearby, excellent folk art museum. They offer a small range of pizza's, much seemingly dependent on the time of day. Evenings are probably livelier.
