Daveste Vineyards - Troutman

Excellent experience, for once a vineyard that had a superb setting area, not one but three. Plus a range of beers and vines. We chose some of the cheeses and crisps. Judy and Debbie were so helpful. 3 hours and still having fun. We shall return soon, nothing like this in the UK. If you want a cool afternoon this is it.

Beautiful, relaxing location with a very nice selection of wines. The art work inside is beautiful, unfortunately not for sale. Bit, adds to the ambience.

Had an amazing first time visit, our group did wine flights and the wine was awesome. Really friendly helpful staff. The lobster rolls are so good, BIG portions and buttery toasted rolls made me feel like I was back in New England

The tasting room is spacious, featuring a cozy indoor seating area next to a fireplace. There's also a separate building for private events behind the tasting room, which was hosting an event during our visit, so we couldn’t explore it. They hold weddings and receptions here. Outdoor seating options are plentiful (be sure to see the photos), including a covered patio situated on a hill overlooking the lake and waterfall area. You'll find tables and chairs for groups of 4 to 6 scattered throughout the grassy grounds. The patio next to the tasting room boasts a rectangular gas firepit, which added warmth to the crisp autumn air. They offer a broad selection of wines (both red and white), and to our pleasant surprise, they also have beers on tap brewed by Daveste (check out the photos of the taps inside the tasting room). On the day we visited, there was live entertainment, drawing many guests to the grassy areas with blankets and lawn chairs, enjoying the music while singing and dancing. A hot dog vendor was also present, but the tasting room itself provides a nice array of cheeses, meats, and crackers for purchase. Picnic baskets are also welcome! The staff greeted us warmly and interacted with us as if we were family. One of the staff members shared that new construction is underway for a larger wine processing facility, all under one roof. We can’t wait to return!

My wife and I traveled from Texas to visit this restaurant last year, and we had a wonderful experience. We decided to return during our trip back to North Carolina this week. Unfortunately, things didn't go as well this time. When we arrived on 9/29/2022, the hostess did not greet us for the first 4-5 minutes. She seemed preoccupied with another customer, whom I assume was a regular. We had to approach her to get acknowledged, and even then, she continued her conversation with the other customer for about 20 seconds. My wife inquired about one of the wines but received a disapproving look from the hostess, which I found quite rude. Typically, I don't leave negative reviews, but as someone who works at a winery, I felt this behavior was completely unacceptable. I’m giving it three stars because of the lovely property and the good service we experienced the first time, but our recent visit was disappointing.
