The only reason why we landed here was because the Asador was fully booked . Honestly I don’t know how this place could even have a star Michelin . We were welcomed by an arrogant waitress who annoyed brought us to the table . We use the QR code to open the menu and surprise surprise : ONLY SPANISH. I ordered as entree zamburinas and my husband artichokes with prawns and ham , followed by Cordero for me and solomillo of angus for him . Well well well. The prawns came with their bowels, not cleaned( you learn in every cook school to clean them !! , the chips were not crispy, very chewy. My Cordero was absolutely dry, I dare say dry-stone and the Angus was no angus at all. Both main course had the same sad side. We drank 2 beers and no dessert: €105. I pointed out all the issues to the waiter who absolutely was not able to behave , just smiled back with no word. We eat and ate in several Michelin around the world : this was the saddest experience we had , even talking about simple horeca , in 45 days traveling from Italy, through France and Spain , the most disappointing culinary experience ever. We are truly in disbelief that such a restaurant can or could ever correspond to Michelin standards. I come from italy , garda lake , and just about around the lake there are like 15 Michelin restaurants , from 1 to 3 stars, like Senso, Esplanade, Lido 84: we ate in all of them . An advice to the cook: spend the easy money you are making to travel abroad and see what a Michelin standard looks like.
We made reservations to go there as soon as we arrive from the airport in Madrid. We were a bit delayed so we called and it was no problem pushing our reservation back another 30 minutes. We walked from the Parador and had no problem finding them. They're right in the Plaza Mayor tucked away in a corner. But they had a sign that helped us find them right away. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The croquetas were very good. The food was well cooked and seasoned. We asked for recommendations from the sever and she was very helpful and never felt rushed. She was always coming around to make sure everything was okay. We would definitely return when we visit Trujillo again.
