Feedback gevenI discovered this restaurant after hearing about it on the radio, and I was completely impressed. The service was excellent and the food was both delicious and incredibly creative. The menu focuses on doing a few items exceptionally well, and the overall experience was fantastic. We decided to ask the server for recommendations, and it turned out to be a great choice. The cucumber foam on top of the martini was a pleasant surprise. We tried a deconstructed wellington, a flambe, a fancy grilled cheese, and a bananafoster. I cannot recommend this place enough.
How can you justify having such a chef? The price of the food does not match the quality. I ordered a medium rare burger to go, but it was cooked medium well. The cheese was burnt to a crisp and only on the outside of the sandwich. The bun was greasy yet somehow dry like stale bread. The Cajun fries were soggy and cold, with barely any Cajun seasoning, just loads of garlic. When I called the restaurant to speak to the Chef, who had recently won an Iron Chef competition, he claimed that none of my complaints were true. He was very impatient and dismissive, offering to speak to me only if I returned to the restaurant. A true culinary artist would have handled the situation with more grace. The cucumber martini, however, was delicious with a nice touch of cucumber foam.
To start, Dante's is our favorite spot for escargot. They are delicious and we each had an order tonight. The highlight of our visit was the conversation with Josh. I accidentally left my phone behind and Josh made sure to keep it safe for me. The food is fantastic, reasonably priced, and the staff is incredibly honest. Owner of Dante's, please take care of this outstanding employee!
This is the Tucson 2022 winner of the “Iron Chef” contest that was just held in August 2022. I can see why ! Chef Kenneth Foy has created a wonderful dining experience with a casual atmosphere and amazing food and drink options. Start with a funadult beverage like the signature Cucumber Martini or Pineapple Whiskey Sour, and then dive into the fantastic entrees. We hadChicken Marsala and Pappardelle Diablo. Both were outstanding. I wish we had room for desert! Our server (Misty) was fast andfriendly! Overall, a great place for dinner any day of the week! VictorB
So while the service was a little frustrating compared to our first time, the food was still delicious warranting the five star review. I would recommend that there be hiring done for specific positions within the restaurant. Granted this is easy for me tosay because I'm not the business owner and I do not have the behind the scenes knowledge of what transpired staffing wise forthe day. All that said there is a reason the head chef won Tucson Iron Chef highly recommend a visit.
