El Sushi De Papá La Carreta - Tucson

Sushi from a food truck? Believe it or not, it was fantastic! While it's not exactly traditional sushi, it definitely delivers in its own way. It took a little while for my food to arrive, but I noticed a couple of people ahead of me had also placed their orders, so I completely understand—it’s a small operation. If you’re looking for a unique sushi experience, definitely give this place a try! And the Bomba could easily stand alone as a meal. Update: Two years later, I’m living in Chicago and still think about this place, haha. I just checked Google Maps to confirm it’s still open and felt prompted to update my review. If you find yourself in Tucson, make sure to visit!

Sushi De Papa is undoubtedly the best Mexican sushi spot in Tucson. I've tried other places in the area, but they often serve soggy sushi that falls apart. However, at Sushi De Papa, the food is consistently fresh, and the fried sushi is always perfectly crisp! Every time I order, I'm met with delicious and fresh flavors. For those who complain about wait times, I recommend calling ahead to place your order, which is what I usually do. I’m absolutely obsessed with the wishos and the fried rice (as shown in the picture below). I visit at least once a week. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are reasonable. After a year of dining here, I haven't experienced any issues with the service or the food.

The food is amazing!! I?ve gone 3x in 4 days., great prices, nice portions and the owners are super friendly. Highly recommend! I love the salmon roll you can get it fresh or fried and it comes with a yummy teriyaki sauce and spicy mayo. Definitely my newfavorite lunch place.
