Merritt has the best king cakes around during the Mardi Gras holiday. Also pretty amazing birthday cakes. They have lunch at this location too! Be sure to take a number as soon as you walk in. There's no lines just service by number.

I've had two graduation and countless birthday cakes from Merritt's and they're always incredible. It's not always the easiest to communicate decoration wishes with the staff, but they're friendly and generally reliable. Lemon cake with cream cheese filling is the best, but their chocolate cake with chocolate frosting is deeply chocolatey and satisfying.  Merritt's is perfect for both celebrations and weekday afternoon pick-me-ups.
