We decided to sit down and order food and drinks, and were enjoying a nice afternoon relaxing by the ocean, but had a very bitter experience before leaving that was only exacerbated by staff. Towards the end of our stay that afternoon, a man visiting the club in his white underwear kept cat-calling and making sexually suggestive comments towards the women in our group. When we raised the issue with staff and asked them to ask him to leave, they shrugged us off and ignored us. We then decided to leave ourselves, at which point the staff then claimed the man was part of “El Chapo’s cartel”, even though we had seen them drinking with him and his buddies. It’s not clear whether this was a rouse to prevent us from leaving without paying, or whether it was a legit cause for concern. Regardless, I would steer clear of this beach club. Not safe!
There are many more beautiful places around the area where staff is friendly and treats their guests in an adequate way.
We enjoyed a mellow day at Las Palmas very nice service, food, drinks and reasonable prices. We had parking, chairs and umbrellas included.
Los Palmas Beach Club about 1 mi south of Tulum Ruins. The only place that keeps the Maya Indian tradition alive. No cement buildings . They have fantastic large Teepee tents to spend the night on beach. around $75 Very large palapa restaurant with fantastic food. I had coconut shrimp, and fish dinner. The flavors are unreal. I was here exact spot 40 yrs. ago camping for one month . This place feels the same unlike the big construction hotels. Thank you to owners and staff. You can also go snorkel with boat crew Black Tuna snorkel right at Los Palmas.
