I went on a weeknight during a recession, which meant that it was very nearly empty. That said, the decor is modern and trendy, offering something different to many places in the same genre. Capacity is good, meaning it felt more empty than it actually was, and I hope that if I try it on a weekend the atmosphere would be much better. That aside, the service was prompt, efficient and friendly, and the food was excellent. I was immediately drawn to the vegetable satay, having previously only been able to wonder with my vegetarian mind what the famed chicken satay tasted like. It didn 't disappoint. As a fan of peanut butter, I ended up eating the sauce on its own after the tasty veggies were finished. Next up was my usual green curry, which was not too hot but still very tasty, and great, as usual, the the celiac-friendly-but-not-immediately-obviously-so 'glutenous ' sticky rice. To finish, I tried my first Thai pancake, and wonderful it was, too. A lovely blend of coconut and cream, hot and cold, soft and chewy awesomeness rounded off a very satisfying meal. And the wine wasn 't half bad either. In fact, the only thing stopping the Fat Boys getting five star from me is their fondness of the worst music ever made. For me, there just isn 't a good time to have Craig David, Brittney Spears et al in the background. EVER.
It seems like the time when one is less hungry, the food comes along in no time. Service at the restaurant was quick and the meal came out within 10 minutes of ordering. The reason it is a star short of the initial rating is due to the long wait after the bill arrives and the fact that one has to order rice and noodles separate from the main meal. Nevertheless, the food was tasty and in the right portion. Albeit with Thai food, I always seem to want more! I wish I could tell you what I ordered but pronouncing the name of the dish was difficult enough let alone remembering it. Two people with an alcoholic drink each and main meal came up to about 35 pounds.
Very good Thai food that tastes just like home made food. I like their curries and steamed or coconut rice. They also make a good shrimp Pad Thai.
Absolutely enjoy this place every time I come! The food is great, the service is amazing, and the atmosphere is phenomenal. To top it all off, the price is perfect!
Good Thai food and convenient price in the lovely Richmond. We went there for lunch without any expectations as we were not supposed to have lunch out, we were in Richmond just for a Saturday walk but we got pretty hungry and we gave it a go. The service was friendly but not really interested about our opinion. They didn't ask anything, they were just politely smiling every time there was a kind of eye contact or when they came to the table. I don't usually care about these kind of stuff, but this carelessness sometimes does make you feel like you are just in a company canteen where there is no point that the chef is going to ask you how was it as you are going to be there again the day after anyway. (Uuuuuh that was a long sentence for my poor English, I hope it makes sense). The food was very nice and fresh so I can't complain about that.
