Prompt, and attentive servers. We all have bad days, we all go through death, divorce, fights on the home front. Whatever. It’s life. As much as we’ve been here? One would expect to see some element of home-front strife in any of our assorted servers. You’ll see it in some of my other reviews. Life happens, and it occasionally manifests on your server. Never. NEVER, has that been here. Always cheery. Always courteous. Always smiling. Happy to see they’ve made 100 years, and I don’t doubt will be a main stay for another 100. Oh food? Yeah man. Wow. Some of the best biscuits and gravy I’ve had. They’ve got it down. Light, fluffy, Gravy is perfect. None of the “glue like” texture that all too often happens with that dish. My kids pancakes today were off the hook. Pics to follow. These guys nail it on all facets. Edit 8:23 ? Showed up with most of crew in tow. Sarah knocked it out the park. Food was on point. Service better. Thanks guys.
I ordered to go today. A Salmon dinner, Cobb Salad, and a pie. My compliments to the Chef! The salmon was cooked perfectly, the salad was so fresh, with thick slices of avocado, and their pie is delicious! This is why Depot Grill is my go to restaurant for 3 years now! It's like going to Mom's for a home cooked meal every time.
I 'm of the opinion that if a business is open you serve your customers, that 's why I 've given your business the lowest possible rating. We arrived at 8:35PM hungry, the lady behind the counter brought out the menu and immediately informed us there would be no fried chicken because we close at 9PM and chicken takes to long to cook ... well that 's why I came here was for the fried chicken so we just got up and left. I 'll never know if the food was good or not, sometimes you only get one chance to please a customer and that chance was wasted. I was left with the impression that leaving work on time was more important than serving your customers. 8/10/2022
Sad to see such a staple of Twin Falls go so downhill. Growing up this was always one of my favorite places. And even as an adult, this was the best late night or early morning breakfast spot for a long time. I've tried giving them a few chances over the last few years to see if they improve. I recently visited and that will be the last time I do. The entire atmosphere itself is dreary and it has a horrible smell. I understand it's an old building, she's seen some things! So I ordered anyways, to give the food a chance. No! No! No! There was no care put into that food whatsoever. I ordered a basic cheeseburger and fries. That's a pretty hard thing to mess up. The burger was dry, not warm, and the bun was also dry. The tomatoes were mushy, the onion and lettuce were brown. The fries tasted like they had been cooked in old oil. Not to mention, the condiments on the table, looked like the containers hadn't been washed in a while. This building, staff, and food really need some TLC. I'd love to see this place alive again, but until there's some major changes, I personally will not eat here or recommend it.
Great place. Clean, quiet, old school. This is how a place should look when you come to eat breakfast. Food was amazing. Had fingersteaks, chicken fried steak eggs, mini burger patty potatoes, and potato soup (which was amazing). Love the vibe here. Will be returning. The food reminds me of the food I used to eat at the Downtown L.A. Pantry when I was a kid. Thanks for the amazing food. The wife and I showed up around 1pm on the Saturday before Labor Day. We didn't realize they closed early at 2pm. I felt bad for that, as I am not that customer who shows up before closing. The staff didn't seem to have an attitude about it, nor did they make us feel rushed. I tried to eat a bit faster than usual, but that's just me trying to be as courteous to their time, as they were to us... I was really impressed. I may have to try the breakfast challenge next.
