Tables were not very clean, space requirement upgrades and is understaffed business purchased ruffle chips as side with a blt and chips were not even fresh salat was old and soggy . not the same place where it was once...left hungry. pity, what a shame.
I was looking for home cooking and found at sweet sue’s. I have the meat-leaved, pinto-bottoms and karto-sweet with brown cemetery. it was very good. meatloaf was a great traditional recipe, baked with tomato sauce. the kartoffels were brilliant, even had small skins, so I like it. gravy was very tasteful and thick. the spucks like momma, and these pintos were the best I had since my grandmother. not easy, but not too spicy. next time I am near sweet sue’s i will stop again! she will be my sweet tante sue.
So I will begin to say that I have lived in tyler, most of my life, and have many times too sweet sues. I'm not going back today. that is a shame because the waitress was a doll, and I feel bad that she has to work in what is obviously a poisonous environment. I ordered the chicken steak, which has always been delicious. what they served me today, I'm not even sure if it was really meat. it was disgusting. So I said the waitress who apologised, and went and took the manager. the manager who spoke the details was a complete idiot. he lied to me, argued with me, and he refused to charge the price of the food I barely touched. as others have said, tyler has too many other ways to waste her money here. sad.
Sweet Sue’s is a wonderful tradition of over thirty years with the original, classic stands and tables! the breakfast is 7 days in the week of 6-10:30 clock and lunch time of 10:30-2:30 clock. it is a wonderful family restaurant with a large meeting room in the back for bibel studies and business meetings! eating is delicious comfort food with daily lunch specialties! try the chicken steak and king ranch chicken!
Terrible lighting. It felt like they didn't even have any lights on inside. Took a while to get my food (only 4 other tables there at the time) and the food was sub par. Looked delicious but Chicken fried steak was not good at all chewy gritty etc salad was WAYY overpriced almost $5 for a monkey bowl but it was the best part of the meal even if it wasnt included it had tomatoes and bell peppers mmm but the cabbage was bland and it was like the roll had been reheated several times by the time it was served to me. I got a pie of coconut pie looked yummy and would have been too if it didn't have the after taste of the fridge yuck!
