We were told this was a great restaurant by our local host. Not! Good service, friendly staff but average food. They served what they called sushi but any resemblance was by chance alone. And even the catch of the day, fresh Halibut was just average.
Ok, the best part about the meal were the desserts. Blueberry cheesecake, a fruit crisp, creme brulle...all excellent. The atmosphere nice, romantic. I read another review that they serve the best Caesar salad on the planet, and I was excited. It was not the best Caesar salad on the planet. I would give the salad a 2.5 out of 5 stars. It was a big portion of romaine lettuce with a unique (note, I did not say "good" or "fantastic") dressing. There were three croutons, no freshly grated cheese or anything truly remarkable. The dressing was actually so garlicy that I could still taste garlic the next morning! Everything else we ordered was fabulous. I highly recommend this place, but don't expect the best Caesar on the planet.
Everything we ate here was amazing. Crab dip appetizer, wonton soup, sushi platter and crab meals. The price was reasonable for such a great meal. My family loved that they served seafood, Japanese and Chinese - not sure why anyone would give a poor review over something so trivial as that. Amazing food and service, what else matters?
Firstly, the service was great. The decor is quaint and well appointed. The food was excellent with two exclamation marks!! My girlfriend had the sushi platter consisting of raw oysters on the half shell, miso soup and sushi rolls. The plate colourfully decorated with shredded/spiralled Chinese radish and carrot. The presentation was amazing and we all know we eat with our eyes. I opted for the octopus. I love octopus but never had such a succulent octopus like I did at this restaurant. Cut it with a fork and it was nicely flavoured with soy sauce. Two thumbs up. The neat thing is that these two lovely dishes including the crusted tuna appetizer which btw is to die for, plus a bottle of wine came to $100. Don,t miss out on this restaurant if you are in Ukee.
