It took a really long time to get my diet soda, I originally wanted a French soda but the waitress didn’t know how to make it. It’s a fairly simple drink) and my friend got completely the wrong dish. It was corrected, without the waitress saying a word. She never checked in to see if we needed anything or if the food was good. This is typical of service on the patio. The wait staff seems to disappear completely.
This food was unfortunately mediocre for the high price. Some good things would be the baked goods, I recommend the almond croissant. However the blueberry corn pancake was not very good.
I love supporting this wonderful Minnesota cornerstone restaurant... In these tricky times on the other side of the COVID pandemic, I'm glad French Meadow is still around and hope it's around for a long time to come!
Love this place. It is so awesome as a person with glutton and soy allergies to be able to have a selection of delicious and safe options!
Pros: server was very friendly but overworked. She was doing cleanup and bartending too so twice I had to go find her at the bar. It was not busy so that was not an excuse. Made the restaurant look cheap to not hire busers and bartenders.Atmosphere is lovely.Cons: My almond encrusted walleye was over peppered. Huge ground pepper chunks on the crust and potatoes. Nothing on menu about heavy peppering. Asked for a new plate without ground pepper. Second round had less pepper on crust but more on potatoes. I gave up.Am sticking with the restaurant on Lyndale.
