Rio - Underwood Street, Falcon Heights

Stopped into Barrio on a Wednesday over the lunch hour. It took 15 minutes to just grab someone’s attention to get service me at the bar. When we did finally stop someone she was annoyed we stopped her and was not very pleasant for the rest of our 45 minutes there. We ordered a drink, and shortly later order chips and salsa. After 20 minutes of the chips and salsa not coming out we just paid for our drink and left. It was clear they didn’t know how to run lunch service and the importance of speed over the lunch hour. Between that and the number of fruit flies buzzing around — won’t be coming back.

While the food is delicious, the service is horrible (but friendly). There were three of us, we ordered cups, guac and salsa. We had to ask for more than one bowl of chips, Verde salsa as well as appetizer plates. All three of our meals came out no less than five minutes apart, one meal was partially served at the beginning and the rest fifteen minutes later. The tables are sticky, the chairs (despite trying to find one that wasn't) were all wobbly or broken. The floor is disgusting and beyond repair. One can only wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen. It's disgustingly filthy. The women's bathroom smelled of vomit and looked like it hasn't been cleaned, ever. We will not be back to this location.

Enjoyed happy hour tacos and margaritas. So yummy. Service was great.

Good food, most awful, slow, and disregarding serving I have had at a restaurant in years. Took two hours to eat and we only saw the waitress once to order drinks, once for food, and once for her to throw the checks in a pile in the center of our table and run away. We were 100% polite to the situation, but the restaurant was not busy and appeared well-staffed. Wouldn’t go back.

One of my favorite spots in st paul! All of the food is bomb and the drinks even better. Best tortilla chips I have ever had too.
