I ordered birria tacos, birria empanada and a el pastor torta the meat was so juicy it was dripping all over The el pastor consisted of el pastor, avocado, lettuce, cheese, jalapeños and mayo on a soft roll The birria tacos and empanada were a KILLER the tacos were nice and thick drenched in consomé UGHHH I loved them so much it was all over my face and hands Give Torta Truck a try if you are in the Jersey or Union City area! you won't be let down, I promise! *Check their Instagram daily for where they will be located for the day*
They're never open when I come by in the afternoon.
Torta truck did not disappoint, decided to give it a try today after the many mentions good reviews. Let’s just say the quality is delicious and, the meat is tender, and tasty, the consome is flavorful! I got the birria empanada birria tacos. The guys were really sweet helpful. Thanks again!! God bless.
Okay? here are my thoughts based on what I tried, birria tacos, tacos Al pastor, torta de milanesa de pollo y, horchatas to drink. The birria tacos were delicious, I would give it a 4.7/5.0. Juicy, flavorful, great portion, the consomé has to bebought separately (which I don?t know how I feel) but it definitely helps enhance the meat flavor. The tacos Al pastor were notgood, a 2.5/5.0, it lacked flavor, pineapple, moistness, the meat had a weird flavor? I would suggest for them to try adifferent way to season meat. The torras were a 4/5, the chicken lacked flavor but I think the portion and fried beans addedwere tasty. I think it?s hard to mess up a chicken cutlet (I hope I don?t jinx myself). The horchatas are a rip off, it?s likea 4 oz cup and they charge a decent price. It lacked cinnamon and it wasn?t amazing (for what we paid), extremely watery. Ithink tweaking some flavors to enhance what they currently have would boost this restaurant from a 7 to a 10. I am still lookingfor some bomb tacos Al pastor here in Jersey, so suggestions are always appreciated.
Went to there grand opening in Jersey city heights and I have to say I was very disappointed. The left picture with aluminum foil is from the torta truck in jc heights. The picture with the torta in the styrofoam container is from a local vendor from mytrip to Texas from a authentic torta vendor. The size and the quality of food from the torts from Texas was hands down waybetter then then the disgrace of a torta I got from the torta truck in jc. The meat was ok from the torta truck in jc not thebest. They use Portuguese rolls for there torts not the traditional bread used for tortas. 15 dollars for a torts at the thisplace isn?t worth it. Don?t do what I did and believe the hype. Very very disappointed.
