Server was very good, apologized and stood back in the kitchen trying to get our food.Didn't discount or not charge for the food as they should have. Would be a 4 star without the wait problem.
Downtown bar and eatery with a hometown Coastal Carolina University theme. Thus the name. Reclaimed building offers the historical look of brick interior with typical oval bar ringed with flat screen TVs overhead claiming the main square footage.High tables and chairs on the main floor, raised platform seating and additional dining off to one side. A more complete barmenu with burgers, salads, sides, sandwiches, nachos and quesadillas, mac and cheese dishes, wings, seafood platter and craftbeer. My evening entree was the Rivertown Mac Attack with cavatappi pasta, chunks of grilled chicken, crispy bacon smothered ina made from scratch sharp cheddar cheese mac sauce and drizzled with house made ranch. Temperature was lacking but flavor madeup for it. The creamy, rich sauce complimented the pasta and the chicken, bacon topped it off. Atmosphere had a comfortable vibeamidst the noise and steady traffic on a busy weekday night. Madison was personable and friendly and we were glad that we came.
The food is absolutely worth every penny you spend. I have not tried the beverages yet but that is next on my list. I order the buffalo blue cheese mac attack and my to go box and everyone else's was full and delicious.
I?m going to leave this review not as a complaint so much but as an observation from a repeat customer. I have been dining at this establishment for two years now frequently. I am a local and we have never had an experience here that hasn?t been withoutissue. We forever take into consideration we live in a time staffing is limited/ supply is an issue however on a Saturdayevening with a full restaurant wouldn?t you appoint someone as a host? Wouldn?t you add a bus person and for the love of god puton a manager who manages the dining room? I have managed many places from 5 star to world renowned diners and one simple rule?teamwork. If the front of the house fails so does the kitchen and when the kitchen is overwhelmed the front of house fails. Youare losing so much money on comps and customers receiving bad service or horrible food. I waited two hours this evening, whenthe order finally hit the table my husband?s wings weren?t made. One server stated they weren?t on the ticket and our waitresssaid she ordered them however someone took them?! The chips we ordered came loaded when he ordered plain after all that wait ?! The wings and chips were comped however as we are leaving here comes another server with the food. I asked them not to make itbecause we were leaving and it was comped. You do have a wonderful restaurant and good menu however this again is an observationand I hope the owner will take it into consideration
Was looking for a nice local place for lunch today with my husband and kids. What a disappointment Crafty Rooster was. Our waitress was not friendly at all. Just very to the point. We asked if they had a kids menu and was told they have one but didn?thave any printed out. Okay, not that big of a deal. However, our food came out and none of us were happy. The fries looked likewe had gotten the bottom of the bag. My husband barely even touched his. My portion of fries was quite small. I paid extra forthe cheese and bacon on my fries and there was barely any cheese on them. My burger did not taste right. I looked and literallyfound a rotten tomato on it. I believe it may be just a frozen patty burger also. Just not good. My son said his boneless wingstasted strange and abnormally chewy. My son never walks away from wings. Well he left almost the entire bowl of them behind. Ihope this was just a bad day for them but I won?t be returning to find out.
