After our hike, we decided to stop at this restaurant. The menu is straightforward and offers a variety of bread options. The portions are generous, as my large latte was compared to the size of a beer by my friend. I ordered the French toast with grilled banana, bacon, and maple syrup, and the combination of flavors was delicious. If I return for another hike, I will definitely make a point to have lunch there again, and grab some of their sourdough bread as well. It's definitely worth trying out!
I stopped by for a quick grab-and-go lunch. They also offer the option to dine in, and they have a larger selection of items for breakfast and lunch. There is a good variety of food choices, and I ended up choosing a steak and mushroom pie, which was decent. The filling had beef mince with some mushrooms mixed in. I also tried an almond croissant that was filled with a tasty custard. The pastry was a bit crumbly but denser than a traditional French croissant. Overall, it was a no-fuss experience.
Amelia's is a little gem. Had smashed avo breakfast twice. Wonderful food made with care and love. Second time I waited 25 minutes but hey things don't always go smoothly in the kitchen especially with just one person multi tasking. It's worth the wait. Good honest food and grad a doughnut on the way out they made me popular at home
Visiting Ferntree Gully area from the USA. Stopped at Amelia's and enjoyed a delicious lasagna and a jelly layered dessert. Great display of pastries. Service was above and beyond since they were closing soon. Would give them a 10 if it were possible!!
