If your going to have items on the menu then at least order the ingredients. Don't be so brash to make up dishes and then not be able to actually cook them. A disaster of monumental proportions!
I love dining here and the food is wonderful, I love the fresh fish and the salads and love sitting outside by the water
Booked after checking reviews that seemed to indicate a great placeCould not fault the service or the time taken with delivery of meals or the presentation but...Asked for bottle of Verdello , sorry we are out, overheard the table next to us have the same response when asking for a bottle of ChardonayThought we would try the Scallop entree only to be told not available tonight... hmmso i settled on the seafood platter and my wife went for the fish of the day( battered barrimundi)Meals arrived in a timely manner with pleasant smiling service. The fish was cooked to perfection the chips very tasty with a small addition of a Brussel sprout tartar no other salad or sauce besides a wedge of fresh lemon. The platter was presented in an awesome manner, fresh prawns ,a Morerton bay bug and 1/2 a sandcrab made the cold component of the platter in addition a piece of pan fried barramundi 3 prawn wontons, 3 oyster Kirkpatrick and 2 scallop mornay on the shell.Scallops were excellentfish cooked to perfectionPrawn wontons deliciousOyster Kilpatrick were lost in the large amount of bacon otherwise not to badThe fresh prawns were fineThe bug and the the crab were basically inedible having obviously been frozen and just defrosted so that water was still coming out of the meat leaving it with a washed out tasteless finish that was more then disappointing. So much that was so good was let down by serving frozen seafood in a town that boasts some of the best fresh seafood.
A plain-looking restaurant attached to a motel, The Pier Restaurant does not look very promising. Inside, the decor is very plain, too. The menu is quite limited but offers something for everyone. My wife had the sous-vide duck breast and I had lamb rib cutlets. The servings were generous and they were cooked to perfection. We particularly liked the fact that the food was not over-seasoned. The wine list was quite good, too. Definitely happy to take guests there for dinner.
The food wasn't even one star. My wife had seafood. It was over cooked and I had a steak which I left on my plate. We ordered ginger beer s and got a strange tasting fluid that cost $5. Will not be going back. Worst night out ever.
