This restaurant gets quite busy at lunchtime on market days (wed and sat) and they do not accept bookings at this time. Worth...noting that there is an excellent ice cream specialist next door (both sit-down and takeaway).... Enjoy!
We came to the evening to the top du jour (lamb hacks with salat, kartoffel and sweet).) it was very delicious, and we could not resist tasting the caffe gourmand dessert, which was also good. our waiter was very friendly and helpful. his English was. something better than our terrible French, but he kept us entertaining and smiled all night. make sure where they sit in the evening: the rooks and starlings come to rust in the trees, so make sure they are under deck
Our last night in the opposite, so we went after dinner. we have already eaten in this opposite and had a great experience, unfortunately cannot be said with this restaurant. we got a table with a gentleman who was already on him because he hurried to finish his dessert so that we could sit. somewhat unpleasant. then it became quite clear that our English had put us on the back of the waiting queue, slowly ordering French, our waiter decided to move to the next table. the lamb we ordered was well cooked because my partner was pregnant, it came out as boiled as possible. she is not one for a deal of dingen so ate her fries and salat and left the flesh that an rude answer from the same waiter, who, never again visits us after his commentary. we managed to beg a waiter down to ask for the bill, 30 minutes later our original waiter was just staring us from inside in the restaurant, and still no I’Addition, no matter how often we asked. Finally we got our bill from a third waiter and left in the tempo, but not before the original waiter, possibly the head later waiter, gave us a very sarcastic farewell and come back soon. pay attention to negative assessments. they are not wrong.
I ate here. Eating was terrible and waiter very rude. we ordered two salads. the cheese salad of the goat came with three small cheese pieces! when we complained about it, the waiter said he was suffering for the confusion. no offer of more cheese and no offer to pay less.
We arrived just as the Saturday market was closing up, having driven up from Beziers....we know the restaurants around the Place aux Herbes fairly well and would generally avoid most of them in favour of places we feel serve great food at reasonable prices and don't cater to the 'one visit' tourist market....unfortunately most of the places we would have chosen were closing after the lunch service and this was a hasty decision (quickly regretted I have to say) having realised they were open all day. The restaurant looks appealing, under the arches, but don't be fooled....rude service and what I can only describe as 'just about edible' food....we ordered the 'seafood platter' which consisted of about four pieces of tough and rubbery squid, 1 prawn, two overcooked mussels and a few pieces of tuna/salmon. We asked for a side salad rather than the advertised 'legumes' and received a few tired and seen better days leaves swimming in oil.....I can't really remember as I prefer to wipe the memory of this meal from my mind, but I think the bread was ok! Oh and we had to query the bill as we had been charged for two coffees when we only ordered one and an additional salad had been added on......if you eat here, don't say you weren't warned :) !
