Black Oak - Vacaville

I have been going to the Black Oak restaurant and it's predecessor, on and off, since the since the 60s. It was the first time I saw colored sugar crystals to add to your coffee or tea. I'd say maybe 3-5 times a year over a 20 year period. In all that time and with change of personal, I can only recall three mediocre experiences. We went this Thursday, kind of a special day, since we didn't have a doctors appointment, and once again it was a five star experience. We sit down and boom, menus and what would you like to drink? Out comes great coffee and a variety of creamers. A few minutes later we order. Our server, Lisa, was just terrific. Engaging, courteous, friendly and focused. We ordered the specials, couple of eggs, country fries, apple sausage links's and bacon, wheat toast and English muffin. I me some Country Potatoes. Black Oak ranks in top 3 I've ever had. They mince green peppers a little celery and onions and cover it over the perfectly diced and fried potatoes. Heaven. Love the ambiance of this restaurant. Great gift shop for perusing, before of after you dine. Large comfortable booths. One last thing. Their menu is Killer. Breakfast and Lunch choices are varied. We have tried a number of different items and always feel we get delicious food for a fair price. Hope you give it a try and come away as pleased as my wife and I.

Delicious! Had the Rise N Shine with bacon. Amazing bacon! Great atmosphere (very festive) and courteous service. Fun place to shop for gifts, too, esp at Christmas time...

Best coffee and best service for breakfast in the area! It's our go-to spot for breakfast, but they have fantastic burgers and sandwiches for lunch too. We really love this place.

Such a great place. So much food and cooked perfect. Great friendly staff. I will definitely make the drive to eat there again.

Worked here 30 years ago as a line cook when we would get 2 to 3 buses headed to Reno/Tahoe. Orders out in 5-10 minutes. Still the same. We were eating in less than 10 minutes after ordering. Great service great food. Asked my server if they get buses in like the old days she said not anymore. God Speed.
