We have had the terrible bad luck to eat here like 3 4/times a year (because we stay at the hotel and we keep thinking: was it really THAT bad? And yes it is... They fail to make a burger. Cold fries. Food takes forever. Children’s menu is a joke: mini stone hard “burgers” with nothing not even ketchup and stale old baguette bread no hamburger bread. Burnt fish in the fish’n’chips and there is nothing NOTHING to gain from eating here. Avoid. Or drink more before...
I immediately spotted the Bishop Arm thanks to its location, it's building and the warm light I could see through the windows from outside. I stepped in and fell in love with the choice of whiskies displayed right behind the bar. I decided to stay for diner and didn't regret it. A great place to go for a nice evening with friends.
Very good location, the sortiment of different beers is trumendous, the food is great. The pub is very cozy and it's treat to spend the evening there!
Being an ex Västerås guy i am happy to return to this frist and original Bishops Arms. Have been a patron for 25+ years and it still is THE place to meet your friends. Feels as a sitting down in your favourite armchair! A very good selection of beer and whiskey. Served by people knowing their products.
I stayed at the Elite hotel and went here for a burger and a beer. My first impression, was where is the staff? The bar was empty for close to 5 minutes before I see that the same persons manning the bar, also did the waiting and cleaning of tables. A long and annoying wait, but from there on the serice was good. I chose the burger, and had a recommended beer. They even offered tastes of the beer when i ordered a big plus! The burger itself was not impressive, it was too compact and not a good texture for my liking. A bit too industrialized, and not a home made feeling. I ordered sweet potato fries with my burger, and was surprised when i saw that served as a side dish, in addition to normal fries that come with the burger. Unnecesarrily lots of fries for me, so i left the standard fries untouched. For me, this was a standard pub eating experience, nothing more except the offer for a taste of the recommended beer :
