Carmack Fish House - Vaiden

We overnighted nearby and found this place. It is clean and comfortable and the food was great! The staff is so friendly and inviting and accommodating! I mentioned wanting to try the deep fried corn and a gentlemen brought me a piece. They sent us home with a to-go box of the peach cobbler! I recommend the short jaunt off the road for this out-of-the-way, non-commercial eatery!

It's something to eat but I wouldn't make a special trip for it. Staff is friendly, building is good enough with plenty of parking. Menu may be better but the buffet is just that , dime a dozen, everything tastes the same.$23.95 plus $2.25 for tea is just too much for what it is.

Half of our group chose the buffet while the other half ordered from the menu. The food took a long time to arrive. However, the buffet was quite good.

Unfortunately not open when we stopped by. Even though yelp shows it's open. Wasted 20 minutes with the drive off of the interstate. Looks like they may be closed permanently.

Delicious! My family and I decided to try Carmack's over the weekend by placing a takeout order, and we were not disappointed. Although it was a bit challenging to find their menu online, we heard that the catfish and hamburger steak were must-tries. Both dishes were fantastic and came with two sides. We enjoyed the perfectly cooked fries, crispy fried okra, and tasty coleslaw. If we’re ever in the area again, we will definitely stop by! Plus, the restaurant was packed with locals, which is always a good sign.
