Azkena Bar Restaurante - Valcarlos

Travelling through Northern Spain on route to St Jean Pied de Port we stopped overnight at Valcarlos and were recommended the AZKENA for dinner we were made most welcome and enjoyed a wonderful 3 course menu with bread, wine and a pitcher of water for a very reasonable price! Service was good as was the ambience No parking problems either.

Went here for lunch and had the house wine, gazpacho, fillet steak, and a torta for dessert. Got some free bread as well. Excellent customer service. The grocery section was at the back of the restaurant; although it was not of supermarket scale, it had a good selection of peregrino necessities and food, etc. Spent about EUR 20 in total including groceries and the meal.

Un bar restaurante, reformado con buenas vistas en la terraza. Las camareras amables. He parado a tomar un café con leche pero el precio 2 euros quizás es un poco elevado.

Muy buena la comida, el planto de axoa muy gustoso. El txuleton para dos , no te quedas con hambre. La mermelada de la panacota natural.

A cambiado de dueños me parece pero merece la pena, es parada indispensable por aqui cuando vamos en moto por la zona de Valcarlos. Buen ambiente y trato.
