The service was good and very friendly. Not much English spoken but enough to get by! The price was reasonable, I can’t remember right now exactly how much, but certainly not at all expensive. It was an authentic Italian restaurant.
We just came out of a hail/thunder storm and ran from the main street this place. Ended up here really soaked. They weren't super welcoming but we had some prosecco and at least we were dry. The place was filled with locals and no one was eating. We had no idea what to expect as they didn't have a menu. But we thought let's risk it because it's raining and we can't go anywhere. They said what they had to offer in Italian and luckily I understood. We went for the mushroom ravioli and the ricotta gnocchi. It took ages to come so we were a bit worried the food was gonna be as bad as the service. When the food came I could not believe my eyes, nose and mouth! It was mindblowingly delicious! The best pasta we ever had in Italy. Then the bill came and it was 27 euros. Could not believe my eyes. 2 wine, 2 water, 2 meals and lots of bread. Then we didn't have change so I wanted to pay 30. But they didn't want more than 25. So generous! Recommend to everyone!!!!!
We chanced upon Caneva dai Boret after escaping a heavy rain storm. We weren't sure what to expect but thought we'd just go ahead and give it a go. We ordered gnocchi with ricotta the tasted like it had been smoked, and fungi tortellini. Incredibly rich but clean tasting food that was finished off with a great glass of local prosecco. All of this to come to €25 has give us the best meal of our trip so far.
This place was recommended to us by our hosts at Villa Barberina and it was fabulous. Really lovely food and lovely hostesses. No menu, only a chalkboard with the specials of the day, and nothing in English, with very little English spoken in the restaurant, but that just added to the experience. Would definitely recommend.
