Great location in an open concept eating dish style near the cathedrale in front of the park and piazza. eating to die for not miss the fresh made tostilla chips and guacamoli
I spent more than I'd meant to here, but we gorged ourselves. I had a combo platter with pibil (tough), lomitas (awesome, tender), pic chuc (fantastic). There may have been some slaw and a salbute along with some rice and I'm certain I got a...huge steamed chicken tamal on the side. Frothy horchata served in a chipped goblet with ice was fun too, if not dangerous. She ate at the place next door and her pibil was extremely tender and perfect, but maybe too salty. No beer to be had in the bazaar, but so it goes. Perfect location across from the plaza.
The title says it all. Poor value. The sopa de lima was short on sabor de lima. It was not bad tasting, just a bit pricey at pesos. The the cochinita pibil ordered by my best gal was tasty, but also overpriced at We have had months of meals in mexico from tijuana to tulum. Seems this place has caught on with people on vacation, gringos and locals alike. I would not suggest this place to anyone trying to stick to a budget. The price is not insane by any means, but the authentic marketplace vibe ends with the prices. The menu flapping mentioned in the previous review is something that happens when there is competition. This area houses a bunch of similar booths, so for fun try haggling the price. Power to the buyer. Get that authentic meal at an authentic price...amigo.
When you walk into this mall, the guys at this place are busy flapping menus around like they're trying to land some kind of aircraft in their window. You place your order at the window and then sit down at the shared tables nearby. They'll...call your name when your food is ready which is pretty fast. Despite the chaos of the window ordering process, it's actually pretty easy to get something vegetarian. We shared a plate of vegetable tacos and they were pretty darned good. Simple, cheap, and good.
