J M Mississippi Bbq - Vallejo

This restaurant is one of those hidden gems that doesn't receive much attention. I tried the ribs, which had a good sauce, but they were a bit fatty and chewy, so I would rate them 2.5 stars. The sausage links had a nice flavor, earning 3.5 stars. The potato salad was very delicious and deserves 4 stars, and the beans were also flavorful, receiving 4 stars as well. Overall, the food was decent, but since the ribs didn't live up to my expectations, I can't rate it higher than 3 stars. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to return, but it might be worth a visit if you're in the area.

I went to this restaurant with a friend to pick up takeout. Even though we were the only customers there, we stood at the counter for 15 minutes before anyone took our order. I ordered ribs to go, and after waiting another 30 minutes, we finally got our food. Unfortunately, when I got home and opened the box, it was just filled with sauce and bones, which was really disappointing.

Awful experience! The BBQ sauce was more like tomato paste and was really unpleasant in flavor. I ordered a full slab, but it appeared to be only half of one. Absolutely not worth the price!
