Feedback gevenIn Vallon pont d 'Arc you can buy a nice icecone. They have lovely flavours as Marron, Gingembre, Rose, Lavande etc. But next to 'Black Jack ' they have a place to sit down, have real big 'coupes ' and it almost feels like you are out to dinner. <3 We visited both, and loved both!
My wife spotted it. look an artisan ice-cream parlour, let 's go. I never need a second invitation to ice cream and for the last few years have been making my own. Our last holiday included stowe in Vermont where we visited Ben Jerry 's HQ. I bought their recipe book and my home made quality stepped up a gear. So I 'm always happy to try ice cream from a master. And Aigon Thierry you are a true master. None of the garish sickly American flavours for you. Here we enjoyed a beautifully created six scoop to share dessert. The dish was decorated with fresh fruit, cream, chocolate cigars, macarons and two pieces of wheat. Wheat? Yes Wheat. The menu said, hay flavour ice-cream. We asked, hay? Error, yes, it is a grass. Well we 'll definitely try that, along with lavender, not too strong but gentle and nurturing, hazelnut, rose, rosemary and chestnut. Exuisite. Thank goodness we still have 10 days til we leave the area. We 'll be back. PS it was very quiet now the summer is over
I have had great ice cream in many places but this surpasses everything, the flavour variety 's, taste and texture are exceptional. The ice cream is the star here. BUT... The service oh the service is so bad. From the moment you enter to the moment you leave they lose no opportunities to disappoint. On arriving there is no obvious queue, just people standing around trying to catch the eye of the staff who seem determined not to lose this anti-stairing competition. So we wait and we wait and we... You get the idea. Finally we get our table and we are sat in front of the mess left behind by the previous customer. This was not a delight reserved for us alone but I saw other parties sat in front of a similar messes and they all had the same look on their faces, WTF... But let 's be positive, I 've heard great things about this place guys and we do have a table now, not like that crowd over there. But there is no menu, we have to wait at a dirty table with no menus and not just a minute but a long time because eventually a bus boy comes to clean off the table, but guess what, he didn 't bring a menu, yeah we would have shared, just one menu would have done. It would have broken the silence, we could have pretended the mess was not there. 'What mess, look at all there flavours '. When the menus arrive, they immediately see we are struggling with the language and the bring English menus, which is a big thing on this part of the country. We make our selection and they take the orders very efficiently, things are looking up. BUT, it takes an age for the order to come to us. Our order was 4 ice creams, 3 scoops each and one espresso. My son, at one point, innocently asked do they make the flavours to order, to be fair that is the only excuse for how long it took to arrive. The amazing thing is the number of staff behind the counter, I 've been to bigger restaurants in major cities with less staff that are run more efficiently. But we are fed now and we are happy so let 's pay up and leave. But this place is not like other places where your waiter brings the bill to you, here you have to go to the till and pay. So we join the herd of people waiting but they think you are now skipping the imaginary queue but hay, there is no queue, we are just trying to get the hell out of this place, honest, you 'll know what I mean, yourself, in a couple of hours. Thierry if you only do one thing to improve the service just leave people in the imaginary queue for one maybe two min longer, clean off the table and leave a few menus before seating each party, it would make a world of a difference. Anyway as I said the ice cream is the star so we will come back and I 'll let you know if things improve or if this is just regular service.
Great quality and flavored even the home made slush puppy flavors are out of this world! The owner has a lot of charisma too, with friendly and welcoming staff highly recommended.
You have to go there and test almost the best ice cream I have ever tasted. There are some special flavors, too, i.e. Rose, Rhabarber, flower of hibiscus or cactus. We were very glad to find Thierry Aigon.
