Hostellerie Du Paradis - Valsavarenche

It's difficult to do this rating because of the dichotomy in what was provided. The meals were excellent, the best four nights of dining in a two week trip. But the hotel had given away some of the rooms we booked for our group. As a consequence the tour guide and one of our group were put into an apparently unused room that was dirty and furnished with a desk and 8 bunk beds and had exposed electrical wiring. The young woman who checked us in took 45 minutes for our group of 18. She apologized for the room mess up but blamed our booking agent and never offered any compensation to the inconvenienced people.

This review is of the hotel as well as dinner. With the hostel in the name we didn 't expect much but were suitable surprised with the accommodations, staff and food. Sensational! Arriving after a long and difficult hike we saw the jumble of buildings and wondered what we were getting. We had a very large triple room for two of us with comfortable beds and very quiet surroundings and we slept very well. Dinner was superb and so unexpected, almost to gourmet quality, including the service and wouldn 't be out of place in any city. The included breakfast was one of the best on the Alta Via 2 and being right on the trail is the perfect place for a nights stop. Wifi was fast and free.

This chalet-style restaurant offers a wide range of dishes and a good choice of wines. Dishes are based on traditional recipes with an innovative slant. Service was very good and prices reasonable. The restaurant is situated in a place which is very convenient for hikes. When in Valsavarenche, it is the place to visit.

Eight days at the beginning of September. mountain position with mountain view. strategic position as a base camp for excursions in the valley and also in the nearby valley of remi; or in case of bad weather for a tour of the castles near the aosta. excellent restaurant with typical dishes of the valley. we were impressed by the friendliness, sympathy and passion with which Arianna and tree welcome and guide guests during the stay. very recommended.

We were staying at the Hostellerie and enjoyed dinner included with our room. The proprietor welcomed us to dinner with a complementary bottle of local wine! Thoroughly enjoyable.
