Given the season the fish was good and tasty. The pasta ricci excellent, the recommended wine was excellent. The prices where cheap. The portions balanced and the ambient was very cozy.
We also visited this lovely restaurant whilst staying at the Villa Etelke in Valverde another wonderful find). For visitors who are not from southern Europe, do not be put off if the restaurant is empty at 8pm, enter and you will be treated to a wonderful experience. You will enjoy the sole attention of Guiseppe the charismatic owner who speaks excellent english) and his charming family with an array of sensational flavours in the food as if cooked by your own personal chef! The restaurant then starts filling up at 9-9.30 with the locals who must be thrilled to have such a fabulous restaurant on their door step which is excellent value for money. We ate there twice in our 4 day stay. The first time we shared the Miro antipasta which was a selection of 10 different entrees, mostly fish and they were all sensational. The local Etna wines went beautifully with it. We had 2 wonderful pasta dishes a lemon sorbet, with an addition of vodka, very tasty. The second time we had the pasta with prawns and asperagus followed by fish of the day cooked in foil with wine assorted sea food, it was all so fresh and full of flavour. Guiseppe is a fabulous host who is always finding that extra something to make it memorable; a sparkling wine with aperitifs as a welcome; a plate of fresh walnuts a sweet wine to finish. Excellent value for money and by far the best experience we had in our 2 weeks in Sicily. Looking forward to returning and being spoilt again.
We found this restaurant on tripadvisor as it had a very good rating (as we are tourists). We asked him to get us some antipasti (our mistake as we didnt ask for price). We got 5 small antipasti 2 of which were not good at all and he charged us €36 euro. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant, there are much better restaurants (both for food and value)
In the summer we rented a villa in Valverde with a group of friends. I 'd read about Trattoria Miro in the weeks before we left, and on the final night we decided to walk into Valverde for dinner. It 's fair to say there 's not great deal to do in Valverde in the evening, and there 's not a huge choice for dinner, so to find somewhere as originally decorated serving amazing seafood feels quite special. The owners and waiters spoke very little English, we speak very little Italian, but managed to order delicious starters and stunning dinner of fresh fish for us all to share, and keep the white wine flowing. We were early , having dinner at 8pm and benefited from having the restaurant to ourselves and all attention of the waiters not to mention first choice of the fish caught that day. If you 're staying in or near Valverde (hopefully in a better villa than where we were) definitely treat yourself to dinner at Miro.
