Together with my partner, I spent an Advent weekend in the wine bar to recharge some strength after a stressful year and before the festivities and get the head free. We were warmly welcomed by the owner family and drank a glass of delicious in-house wine, while we were extensively supplied with company tips. After a long walk on the Mosel at the cold, we moved into our pleasantly heated room and enjoyed our modernly furnished and large accommodation. On the other two days we visited landmarks in the area, of which there is a variety and a lot flown in a magnificent area. From our point of view, the excellent catering in this small, lovingly managed family business must be highlighted. The booked half board framed our great days in Valwig on the Moselle to a special extent. A rich and beautifully decorated breakfast buffet with fresh ingredients provided a good start to the day, especially the long sleeping breakfast on Sunday. The petty-bourgeois dinner with moselanic notes with good wine in the stylish Christmas restaurant rounded off the days comfortably. A few bottles of house wine bought and well recovered from the short holiday ready for the exhausting festive days. Thanks to family stone and team of the Winzer scream for the big days and soon!
We stayed here for two nights as part of an Advent package. Rooms and location are fine. Room cleaning had to fail due to lack of personnel. As part of our agreement, we had also booked an incandescent wine hike which was cancelled at short notice, as too few participants were registered. This information as well as the welcome drink also booked were only received in a clear and multiple demand. The problem was that the heating in the guest house was only set after we complained about the ice-cold room (external temperature 1°C). The half board also booked was unfortunately only moderately described. We had a burger on the two evenings and a carving couldn't convince both of meat. It just didn't taste. The Knaller was then the reaction of the staff. We leave the burgers almost completely. If we had asked if it had tasted, we only said that the kitchen is not ours. Then we were pampered and the staff blasphemed for us audible in the kitchen. Especially the daughter of the house was born. We had dared to be in the dining room as last guests shortly before 8:00 and to ask if at least some music could run. The information was there, but you couldn't make it louder because we had forgotten a little light in our room. O Ton: If you turn off the light next time, I can play the music. Overall, the dining room as a guest had the feeling of disturbance and you would rather close it earlier. Cosy's just different. From our point of view, the Mosel is worth a trip, but do the favor and book another hotel. At least you should without booking the half board. One tip would be Fischer Fritz, who is right below. Here we arrived on the second evening and have to say here that we liked gastronomically much better. The house also has rooms. Addendum of 14.12.2022 Thank you for your answer to my review. It is good to hear that they want to acknowledge criticism and improve service in the future. I strongly reject the accusation expressed between the lines that we have acted disproportionately. The incident I described in relation to the music on the second evening, and I assure you we were the only guests in the dining room at that time. Just to clarify, it is not about the music that was too calm, but about the patty answer of the daughter of the house. We also try to make our contribution to the general efforts to save energy, but it is about making such a reference. The way we were addressed is not appropriate to the guests. They are also 2023 happy.
In the review, I only review the restaurant in the wine barn farm. We were very friendly and felt very welcome (also with dog). All foods were absolutely successful and a pleasure for the palate, from flame cake, fish, steak to dessert, all topp. All recommended!
We got a table for dinner at this very nice restorative hotel. You taste the fresh ingredients, the kitchen cooks with love. Meat from the region from cattle to wild.
