Black Angus Tavern Grille - Van Wert

Most of the bartenders here are fantastic, but there's one who resembles the wife of a biker gang. Unfortunately, she has been consistently rude to me, even though I’ve made an effort to be friendly and respectful. I used to visit frequently, but I’ve stopped going at night because of her.

The table was dirty when we arrived. Since we got there before dinner service, we were able to place our orders fairly quickly and received our drinks. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the meal my husband wanted, so he had to choose a different option. When his filet came out, it was overcooked and burned, despite him ordering it medium. The restaurant got really busy at that point, and we couldn’t find our waitress, so he ended up eating it anyway. After we finished our meal, we had to wait quite a while to get the bill.

I was quite disappointed with the food. I paid $27.95 for a 14 oz Ribeye Steak, but it was the thinnest and fattiest steak I’ve ever encountered. Honestly, it wasn't worth more than $10. The presentation was also lacking; it looked very plain and unappetizing. There were many other things I disliked, but I won't take the time to list them all. I won’t be returning, and I recommend that you consider skipping this place as well.

We came here after a show at the Niswonger Center. The service was very slow and we were sitting for an hour and a half before our appetizer came out. The food was decent, what you'd expect from a small town independent restaurant.

Food is always good but it seems like they're always out of something I want to order. Server was great and beer was frosty
